The 2017 Dubbo Show officially opened its gates at 7am and will run until Sunday 5pm.
For Gemma Tink the best part of the show was the orange Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Michelangelo.
“I like all the toys,” Gemma said.
The little show goer had her eye on only one thing at the Dubbo Show- winning a Michelangelo soft toy at the clowns.
Grandfather Wayne Jeffery said it was the second time the duo had attended the show together.
“Last year was the first time in about 20 years I’d been to the show,” Mr Jeffery said.
Two-and-a-half year old Hendrix Davies was all about the rides.
He cried when he had to leave the trains, mother Lisa Davies said.
The classic tea cup ride was also a hit with the youngster.
Ms Davis said the family decided to come to the show as Hendrix was at an age when he could enjoy himself.
Dubbo Show Society president Chris Edwards has promised something for everyone at this year’s event.
“We’ve got so much stuff you’ll be hard pressed if you can’t find something you like,” he said.
“We just want people to come along and enjoy themselves.”
Friday was a strong start to the Show, Mr Edwards said. There was harness racing Friday night, the speed shearing and Adam Brand performing.
Saturday will include the Grand Parade, the Showgirl presentation and the performance by Team D-MAX. The night will be capped off with fireworks at 8pm.
Sunday’s not to be missed events include the Pet Parade, the Beaut Utes judging competition and the Tiny Tots Competition. And of course, there’s always the rides.
This year the show society has created their own show bags for the event, Dubbo Show Society secretary Sue Hood said.
“We’re trying to do something a bit different and people have kindly donated items so we can out it into the show bag. There’s only 500 though and once they’re gone, they’re gone,” Ms Hood said.
The show has gone completely digital this year. Entry tickets are available online at 123tix.com.au.
