Bikers Australia’s Central West chapter has donated $4000 to the hospital’s paediatric section, to go towards the purchase of a new infant ventilator.
Other community groups are also contributing to the $30,000 piece of equipment.
The funds were raised at Bikers Australia CW’s 10th annual Dice Ride, which took in Yeoval, Molong and Mumbil before finishing at The Buncha Hotel in Dubbo.
BA CW’s Darrel Harvey said about 90 riders took part in the event, with some coming from as far away as Sydney, Newcastle and the Northern Tablelands.
“No one likes to see a sick kid, you know, and if you can do anything to help them then all the better,” he said.
“So it’s great to have all those clubs come over – it just shows how much people care.”
The ride was followed by an auction at The Buncha Hotel, with items donated by local businesses around Dubbo.
Businesses along the route, particularly in Molong, also dug deep for the cause.
“Thank you to all the businesses that donated,” Mr Harvey said.
“A kid can’t help themselves, they need help from other people.”
