The facility will provide affordable accommodation for people travelling to Dubbo for treatment at its public hospital.
It will be built on 3.5 hectares of land bounded by Cobbora Road, Tony McGrane Way and Yarrandale Road, largely through a $3.3 million grant from the Restart NSW Cobbora Transition Fund.
Stage one will include 14 guest rooms with shared self-catering kitchen facilities and a communal living room.
“Being the first stage, there is an enormous amount of infrastructure to be established, and in conjunction with the other ancillary buildings, the building contract on offer is very substantial,” managing director Rod Crowfoot said. “A project of this size will create new employment opportunities.”
