The Great Business Program, a revamp of previously successful Your Dubbo program, is about building stronger businesses across the region.
The program has been designed to educate, empower and reward local businesses.
Along with access to customer feedback and grant funding, participants were given the opportunity to attend two business development workshops led by expert guest speakers.
The workshop was led by Lisa McInnes-Smith, the 2017 Professional Speakers Australia Keynote Speaker of the Year.
Lisa’s high energy presentation challenged attendees to focus on attitude, streamline behaviours and deliver better outcomes.
There will be another workshop later in the month led by RedBalloon’s Naomi Simson.
Wellington Pool master plan
Community consultation on the future of the Wellington Pool is well underway and it was great to see so many people show up to the community meetings held on Monday and Tuesday.
If you weren’t able to come to the meetings there is still plenty of time and opportunities to have your say.
You can take the online survey at dubbo.nsw.gov.au where you can rate the importance of services and features of a new aquatic centre and tell us what you want from the new facility.
Council will also be conducting phone surveys and a street poll and there are hard copies of the survey available from the Council building on the corner of Nanima Crescent and Warne Street.
We want to hear from you when it comes to designing the new pool so I would encourage everyone to have their say so we can create the best facility for the community.
Lunar Park open day
The playground at Lunar Park has undergone some radical changes, is looking great and is now ready for play.
There is new play equipment, lighting, shade sail, bubbler, remarked basketball courts, new trees and a community meeting place has also been installed.
A campaign was run to get feedback from the community on what they wanted at Lunar Park including an online survey and paper-based survey run in the schools in the surrounding area as well as Apollo House.
Many thanks must go to the team at Apollo House for their work on the project. The team did a great job of engaging with the youth in the community.
The team from Artseeds was also involved in the redevelopment working with the kids at Apollo House to create some amazing artwork for the basketball court.
To celebrate all this hard work there will be an open day held on Monday 29 May from 3.30pm to 5pm and will include a footy fun clinic, handball, basketball and a sausage sizzle.
Learner Driver workshop
