On Friday, International Nurses Day, they picked up the title of Nursing Team of the Year from the Western NSW Local Health District.
Blayney’s Georgiana Simpson was named Nurse of the Year.
The health district’s director nursing and midwifery Adrian Fahy said the annual awards were always hotly contested. “Nominees have to demonstrate their commitment to the nursing profession and how they provide leadership in their everyday duties,” he said.
“Nominees also have to show their commitment to the organisation’s values. Both Georgiana and the Dubbo Health Service ED are very deserving of these awards, and we would like to acknowledge them for their achievements and their hard work and dedication to nursing.”
Mr Fahy said the health district was “very proud” to have a strong and dedicated nursing workforce.
International Nurses Day is celebrated on the day Florence Nightingale was born.
