The show will be held March 26 to 28 and include all of the usual favourites as well as some fun new offerings.
Dubbo Show Society secretary Sue Hood said so far progress was coming along quite well, but until the show started she didn’t know how everything would turn out.
Entries for some of the exhibitions are still open, as well as for the 2017 Dubbo Showgirl.
The Showgirl competition was something Ms Hood encouraged women to consider.
“Showgirl entries are open until next Wednesday. I think I’ve just got the one entrant but we’re hoping to get four or five,” she said.
“If they want to be an ambassador for their community they should enter. It gives them public relations experiences, they network. And it’s not a beauty contest.”
This year the show society has created their own show bags for the event.
“We’re trying to do something a bit different and people have kindly donated items so we can out it into the show bag. There’s only 500 though and once they’re gone, they’re gone,” Ms Hood said.
There’s also a new ride which hasn’t been in Dubbo before.
For those who think they’re an expert at shearing, the speedshear will be held Friday night. There’ll be three grades: intermediate, senior and open, with more than $5,000 in cash and prizes to be won.
The entertainment will also be top notch. Adam Brandt and a Bruce Springsteen Tribute Show are among those on the cards to perform.
The show has also gone digital, with entry tickets available online at the show’s website or on 123tix.com.au.
