Books, DVDs and CDs will change hands quickly until lunchtime.
Then browsers will settle into St Brigid’s hall at 198 Brisbane Street.
At 3pm the bargain hunters will make an appearance with “ no offer refused” in the final hour of the fair.
On Friday fair coordinator Peter Bartley told of its rhythm, observed across the past seven years.
“We look forward to providing the community with a chance to stock up on books and support two good causes,” he said.
The Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie runs the fair as a service to the community and to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Dubbo Base and the Bill Walsh cancer research centre.
About 15,000 good quality books donated by Dubbo and district residents are up for grabs at affordable prices.
On Friday the hall was buzzing as the Rotarians, members of Dubbo Community Men’s Shed and supporters of the RFDS unpacked stored books and accepted more donations.
“So many books come out of the woodwork each year,” Mr Bartley said.
“The support we get from the community is amazing.”
The book fair is named after a charter member of the club who died from cancer at the age of 49.
