The high-end festival – hailed ‘Riverfest’ – will feature locally-sourced food, wine and beer and 10 of the biggest Australian acts of the 1980s.
Eurogliders, Dragon and 1927 are among the acts who will perform on the banks of the Macquarie River.
Glenn Shorrock, Wendy Matthews, John Paul Young, Shane Howard of Goanna, Chocolate Starfish, Mi-Sex and Sharon O’Neill will also perform at the festival.
Riverfest will be held at Dubbo’s picturesque Lazy River Estate in partnership with Zoo FM on September 16 and is predicted to be a major draw card for the city.
Pam Scott of Lazy River Estate said she has no doubt the event will be a sellout.
“We are very excited to be hosting Riverfest at Lazy River Estate,” Pam said.
“Riverfest brings together a great bunch of artists with a local collaboration of renowned Dubbo restaurants matched with regional wines.
“It’s a premium festival that is unique to Dubbo in that it includes local food, regional wines and headline acts.
“Each of these acts are draw cards within themselves.
“Focusing on great music, fantastic local food and regional wine, we are looking forward to a great day on the banks of the Macquarie River!”
Pam said the aim is to establish an annual festival that promotes the Macquarie River and increases visitors to the city.
Riverfest is a fully licensed 18-years plus event. There is strictly no BYO food or alcohol, and tables, tents and sun shelters are not permitted.
In the case of rain festival-goers are to leave their umbrella at home and bring a good quality raincoat and gumboots instead.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday, May 8 at 10am from www.ticketmaster.com.au and 136 100.
