The Noel Soane Junior Pairs tournament is over for another year, again proving one of the standout competitions for up and coming bowlers from the local area and wider state.

The tournament was a great success for the club and also for junior bowls in NSW.
At the conclusion of the tournament those at the club, particularly West Dubbo Bowls Manager Anthony Brown, were keen to pass on a huge thank you to the parents of all competitors, who assisted in transporting the kids to Dubbo. There was 24 teams competing over two days with the conditions perfect at Club Dubbo.
Making the tournament even better was the fact both age groups went right down to the wire are over for another year, it was a great success for the Club and junior bowls in NSW.
At the end of the competition, the under 14 division winners were Gulgong’s Kya Blake and Lachlan Thompson while Appleby siblings Chloe and Tailor won the 15-18 years competition.
Blake and Thompson won $500 for their efforts, finishing as winners ahead of Raymond Terrace duo Brendan Stokes and Zac Nicholls, who pocketed $400.
Cabramatta pair Nicholas and Mathew Swan were in third place and won $200 while Tom Bowman and of Coonabarabran teamed up with Kane Shorter of Kingswood and they finished fourth, earning $150.
Rounding out the top five was West Tamworth’s Tara and Zoe Stewart, who won $100.
The prizemoney was the same in the 15-18 years, where the Appleby team won ahead of Leigh Brown of Molong and Wagga’s Heath Walker.
Hometown hope Jess Ball, of West Dubbo, combined with Britt Camp of Glen Innes to finish third while Kasey Cone of West Tamworth and Glen Innes’ Haylee Ross was fourth and fifth went to the Trangie team of Logan Fraser and Jarrod Kohlenberg.
