Plummer hasn’t had a winner from his past 32 starters but has endured a frustrating run of placings in that time.
Ephriam joined Plummer’s stables prior to its first start in a race, and on the back of two fifth placings is primed to perform in the Dubbo RSL Poppies Coffee Shop Maiden Handicap (1000m).
At his most recent start, the Helmet x In Expectation gelding finished third in a showcase maiden at Orange behind Fraternator, which came out to then perform well against older horses.
With Sunday’s event being held on the roomy expanses of the Dubbo track, and with Ken Dunbar taking the ride, Ephriam’s pattern of settling back and hitting the line strongly should be more suited than it has been around Orange.
Seven races are set down for decision at Dubbo, with the first set down for 1.05pm and the last to leave the barriers at 4.45pm.
