TALENTED cyclists Kurt Eather and Emily Hines have been awarded the prestigious Percy Dawson Memorial Trophy at Dubbo Cycle Club’s annual track presentation night.

After a strong season of racing, Eather and Hines tied in the Percy Dawson Memorial Points Score Standings and took out the clubs highest track honour, which is now in its 50th year.
Catherine Fuller was named the Club Person of the Year for her tireless efforts both on and off the track, while brothers Dylan and Kurt Eather were the winners of the Cliff Hazell Trophy for their strong season.
Tom Russell clean swept the under-9 awards, likewise Emily Hines in the under-11 division, Isabelle Russell in the under-13 division and Kurt Eather in the under-17 division.
Dylan Eather (overall and scratch race champion) and Mitch Hines (handicap champion) were the winners of the under-15 awards.
Sam Fitzgerald was the winner of the overall men’s points score and Heather Ticehurst was the winner of the overall women’s points score.
Jason Farr took out the masters points score award.
Farr (A-Grade), Fitzgerald (B-Grade) Ticehurst (C-Grade) and Jason Canobie (D-Grade) took out the graded points standings.
Dylan Eather was crowned the junior cyclist of the year and Darrell Wheeler was again the senior cyclist of the year.
Rising star Danny Barber was the winner of the most improved award after medalling at the Junior National Track Championships and Zac Fuller, Farr and Fitzgerald were also recipients of the Coaches Awards.
Opening round of road race series
Tom Mannix (+13 minute handicap) has taken out the opening round of the Dubbo City Toyota Road Race Series on the Mogriguy course on Saturday.
With a strong line up of 52 riders, Mannix took out the 38km race ahead of Mitch Hines (+13 minutes), Sarah Gordon (+13 minutes), Ann Clark (+7 minutes) and Zac Fuller (+7 minutes).
Jason Farr (+28 minutes) recorded the fastest time for the event with 54 minutes 45.40 seconds (41.31km/hour) while Simone Grounds was the fastest female with a time of one hour 51.55 seconds (37.17km/hour).
State championships
Adam Mitchell has finished 18th in the NSW Under-23 State Championship Road Race at Mittagong on Sunday.
Northern Sydney Cycle Club’s Michael Potter took out the event ahead of Mudgee’s Ayden Toovey, who finished on the podium in the Under-23 National Criterium at Ballarat in January.
Easter Bars Classic
Next Saturday, Dubbo Cycle Club will conduct one of its key feature road races in the Easter Bars Classic.
Raced over 50km for A, B, C and D grades and 30km for E grade and under-13 juniors, the Easter Bars Classic will get underway at 1.30pm on the Wongarbon course.

Junior Road Racing: April 15, under-13 30km, Short Course (Wongarbon).
Junior Road Racing: April 16, Sheraton Road Course. Start and assemble point is near St John’s High School. Course length is approx 3km per loop. Sign on from 2pm for a 2.30pm Start.
