The three colourful panels have been hung in the reception area with three-dimensional animals such as a koala and platypus.

The artwork took the group months to complete, said Lorna Brennan, with help from some little hands.

As well as ensuring the artwork was culturally appropriate, Ms Brennan said recycled materials were used as much as possible, such as curtain samples which were transformed into leaves.

“Doing the artwork has increased the group’s confidence so much, and people are going to come in here and see it, so hopefully we’ll get more members” Ms Brennan said.

Next for the Buninyong Art Buddies is decorating the toilet at Local Coffee Co.
