The Golden Guitar winning artist will return to the showground as part of his “Get On Your Feet” national tour.
His concert on Friday May 26 is part of a swag of entertainment for Dubbo Show patrons across its three days.
We’re getting ready for another big show.
- Dubbo Show Society secretary Sue Hood
From revheads to animal lovers the Dubbo Show Society has planned a program to cater for a variety of tastes.
“We’re getting ready for another big show,” secretary Sue Hood said.
“It is shaping up to be a good one.”
A speed shear competition and a TAB harness racing meet were also part of the line-up for the Friday night.
The IsuzuTeam D-Max would take centre stage on the Saturday and Sunday.
The Rooftop Express from northern Queensland would return to Dubbo after two years to keep up the action in the ring.
Mrs Hood said the act involving, “horse, man and dogs” didn’t venture to NSW very often.
New this year is a buskers competition, to be held throughout the second day of the show.
The performers who won first, second and third prize would then open Saturday night’s entertainment, Mrs Hood said.
A fireworks display would be another highlight of the night.
The axes are set to fly for the woodchopping contest.
Mrs Hood said for the adult’s entry fee of $12.50 there was a lot to see if people didn’t want to spend any more after coming through the gates.
The pet parade on Sunday May 28 is for under 15s to show off their fluffy or feathered friends.
The competition has categories for dogs, rats and mice, cats, birds “and all other pets”.
Pooches entered will vie for four awards including the most friendly, the smartest, the ugliest and the most beautiful.
The feature cattle breed is limousin and for the sheep it will be the border leicester.
