Macquarie Credit Union is acting on its belief that “a good education is paramount in today’s society” by handing out another $5000 to TAFE NSW students in western NSW, three of them from Dubbo.

It has provided more than $25,000 in scholarships to TAFE NSW students in the past few years.
Students use their $1000 scholarships to cover costs associated with their training, fees and learning resources.
The latest recipients are Arthur Kinchela, Julie Freeman and Robin Payne from Dubbo, Lisa Cooper from Wellington and Melissa Whackett from Dunedoo.
A record 147 applications were received for the scholarships, reports TAFE NSW Dubbo student engagement officer Brigid Palin.
“These scholarships can make the world of difference for these students, some of which are single parents that need to travel long distances to attend classes,” she said.
Macquarie Credit Union general manager Matthew Bow said he was thrilled to see the scholarship program making “such a difference for students”.
“A good education is paramount in today’s society, and we are very excited to partner with TAFE NSW to help change lives by allowing students to complete their studies and achieve success in their chosen careers,” he said.
Macquarie Credit Union's TAFE NSW scholarship program will reopen on May 19.
