More than 50mm fell in a three hour period on Thursday, turning many off the paddocks around the region into pools and leaving the Pioneer Oval surface in no fit state.
Parkes Shire Council announced on Friday morning all of the sporting grounds in the region were closed due to “extensive saturation”.
At one stage on Thursday, the Newell Highwy between Parkes and Forbes was closed due to flooding.
The move to cancel the fast-paced tournament will come as a blow for many clubs fine-tuning their pre-season programs.
Dubbo sides Macquarie and Westside in particular were keen to have a look at respective players as both clubs were set to send two senior sides each to Parkes.
Up next for Group 11 clubs now is the official pre-season trials in all grades, which begin on the weekend of April 1.
Macquarie travel to Nyngan on the Saturday for a clash with the Tigers at Larkin Oval while CYMS will travel to Wellington to do battle with the Cowboys.
CYMS and Westside will then meet in a local derby on Friday, April 9.
The season proper kicks off on the weekend of April 30 with CYMS and Westside again meeting in a derby, Macquarie taking on Nyngan, Parkes meeting Narromine and Forbes hosting Wellington.
