1. Mitch Bower v Ben Semmler: The South Dubbo captain is in tremendous touch with more than 500 runs at an average better than 100 being scored in roughly the past month. His records in finals is not the most imposing, having made ducks in last season’s decider and this season’s Megahit final. The ultra consistent Semmler will be even more dangerous should there be life in the pitch and should he bowl to Bower early on it will be well worth watching.
2. Souths spinners v Brad Cox: Brad Cox bats time for Colts, and while he is seen as the anchor he is also more than capable of grinding out the kind of half century which will be valuable on a potentially rain-affected pitch. Coming in during the middle stages there is every chance he will face the likes of Joe Coles and Bower and if they let him get away it is danger time for the Hornets
3. The Captains: Bower is an experienced leader having captained at a club and representative level for a number of years while this season has marked Greg Buckley’s first as the captain of RSL-Colts. Both lead from the front and by example. They are encouraging and the biggest thing is they have both brought their respective sides together. Both grand final teams feature a number of big personalities but both teams are united in the goal of lifting the RSL-Whitney Cup on Sunday afternoon.
