The Dubbo Wig Library is run by a group of local and dedicated women who provide clients with wigs while they are undergoing treatment for cancer.
The organisation has been running in Dubbo for approximately 15 years and the fundraiser will help raise funds to help them continue their wonderful and free service.
“The Dubbo Wig Library helps to give people dignity when they’re feeling at their lowest,” volunteer Libby MacMahon said.
The Downtown Abbey style high tea will also be a way to say thank you to Rhianon McMahon, who sadly passed away.
“Rhi was one of our volunteers,” Libby said.
“It will just be a lovely day of getting together and saying thanks to her.”
Libby said there will be plenty of fun things on the day including a horse drawn carriage, vintage fashion accessory displays, prizes for best Downton Abbey Style Dressed and give aways and valet parking.
Libby said many local businesses had kindly donated prizes, to which she was very grateful for.
“The Dubbo community has just gotten behind us and they’re generosity has been overwhelming.. it’s just sensational,” she said.
The Downtown Abbey High Tea is being hosted by Julie Bendall and is being sponsored by Tea Karts.
The event will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 78R Obley Road, Dubbo from 2pm to 5pm and tickets are only $50.
Libby said tickets for the event had being selling, but to get in quick as there are only a maximum of 100 tickets available for the event.
