Dubbo’s Barry Joseph witnessed the extent of the bushfire during a flight to Newcastle recently and has since been the driving force behind the initiative to host a concert fundraiser.
Now just three days out from the monster variety concert, Barry is urging the community to show their support.
“Music is a universal language, and what we’re going to do will be pretty simple compared to the hardship these people are going through,” he said.
“The shoe could’ve been on the other foot and they’d be helping us.”
The concert will be held in the Dubbo RSL auditorium from 1pm on Sunday, March 26. It will feature a variety of local artists and bands at just $10 per person, and children under 12 free.
All proceeds will go to the Coolah Valley Bushfire Rebuilding program.
“It’s just a small way of helping people, just know that the money raised will help,” Barry said.
