For the past five weeks Wayne has traveled over 5000 kilometres, hypnotising audiences around Australia and on Saturday, April 15 he will be bringing his show to the Dubbo RSL.
When Fairfax Media spoke to Mr Donnelly he wanted to put people’s mind at ease and let them know that those hypnotised won’t be picked at random from the audience, but instead will go under a quick test to see if they are suitable right from the start.
“I’m looking for people that are able to be hypnotised and their ability to focus,” he said.
The show will also see Mr Donnelly interact with the audience and hopefully dispel any myths and misconceptions of hypnosis.
“A lot of people think it’s voodoo or mind control … but it’s certainly not mind control,” he said.
Mr Donnelly has worked with clients looking to quit smoking, lose weight, as well as one on one hypnosis therapy for PTSD and depression and anxiety. He started training as a hypnotist in 2009. But Mr Donnelly said this trance tour is all about having fun.
“I want to make people feel good and show them the power of the mind,” he said.
“We also get into some very funny stuff … people think they’re a ballerina or in a talent quest.”
Mr Donnelly didn’t want to ruin the surprise of some of the antics that occur in his show, but said Dubbo audiences can expect to have a whole lot of fun.
“At country towns shows I get a whole bunch of people, it’s fantastic,” he said.
The free show will be held at the Dubbo RSL, in the Entertainment lounge on Saturday, April 15, with the showtime to begin at 9pm.
