Racing NSW stewards are investigating what went wrong after news became public that Lunn had withdrawn the gelding, which finished third in the Dubbo qualifier, from the April 1 final.
Shortly after, further information was released in a statement confirming Not For Export was back in the field.
The statement read: “Further to advice released this morning, Dar Lunn, trainer of Not For Export….has advised that he did not notify Racing NSW stewards that Not For Export wasn’t taking its place in the The Country Championships Final.
“Accordingly, Not For Export has been reinstated into the final as the second WRA representative and 7th placegetter Strathaird, trained by Mr Garry Lunn, will become the emergency for the WRA region”.
