This is the sixth year in a row that the City has hosted the exhibition and it did not disappoint advanced or beginner crafters. Held from Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 12, Craft Alive has a range of stallholders from Dubbo and as far as Queensland.
When Fairfax Media visited the Dubbo Craft Alive event on the Friday, event manager Tess Gutknecht said there had been a good, steady flow of visitors that day.
“Craft Alive has been coming to Dubbo for 6 years in a row now, which is fantastic. We love Dubbo and the crafters. They come down every year and support us,” Ms Gutknecht said.
Dubbo Patchwork and Quilters Group member Meg O’Brien said the group have been involved with Craft Alive for about 4 years.
“In our quilt group we had trouble finding volunteers in the first year, but each year its been building momentum and the girls just love it (coming to Craft Alive), (we love) to come along, be a part of the experience and to give back to the community what they give to us,” Ms O’Brien said.
A feature of this years series was the Quilt of Hope display that supports children living with cancer.
The Dubbo Craft Alive event will run until Sunday, March 12 at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, 155 Darling Street.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for concession, $5 for kids 6 to 15 years and is free for children 5 years and under.
