Those attending will go into a draw to win 250 rounds of ammunition. An RSVP list will be placed on the counter in the clubhouse and people asked to put names down sooner rather than later for catering purposes.
Small bore rifles kicked off the week’s events with 10 starters for the 50 Metre match on Saturday, with Terry Greer the Range Officer.
Brett Pengilley handled the conditions best with 594 (580, 14). Warren Johnson was second with 593 (591, 2) and Peter Howell third with 592 (587, 5). Heidi Ryan, Doug Jump, Mike Root 579, Peter Caligeros, Doug Elliott, Bec Pengilley and visitor Vic Madey also took part in the match.
Five members took part in the 25 Metre Black Powder match on Sunday. Adam Bell grabbed first with 442 (242, 200), Dave Coleman was second with 390 (295 – a great black powder off pistol score, 95) and Richard Wheatley a flea’s freckle third behind Dave with 389 (276, 113).
A 25 Metre Centrefire/Sports Pistol match was held on Sunday afternoon. In the centrefire match, young Bob O’Keefe took first with 482 (434, 48), Warren Johnson second with 447 (347, 100), and Peter Caligeros third with 428 (384, 44).
In the sports pistol match, Noah Thomas had a handicap-numbing score of 617 (365, 252) to take first. Ned Williams was second with 582 (472, 110) and John Salter third with 552 (454, 102).
The agenda for the coming week includes Air Pistol on Friday night and Standard Pistol on Sunday.
Members are also reminded to give some serious thought to becoming a Range Officer in order to give the regulars a break.
