The field for the Championship Final will comprise the leading point scorers over the NSW picnic circuit and the Neil Osborne-trained Kinda Tangy has a share of top spot, after wins at Harden and Yass, with Mark Cross’ Stradance.
There are a number of others close behind, including Double Halo, trained at Gilgandra by Bruce Parker., Dalhero from the Cowra stables of Neil Smart and I’m Away, trained at Bathurst by Roy McCabe.
The next opportunity to earn points is at Tottenham Picnics on Saturday.
Kinda Tangy ($3.50 favourite) carried the 65kg top weight at Yass and with the talented Billy Owen in the saddle came from midfield to beat Liability Adjuster (Samara Johnson, $6.50 ) by a length with The Real McCoy (Michael Gray, $15 ) third.
