McGhee made 104 as the Green Cougars passed Souths’ total of 159 in 22 overs for the loss of just two wickets.
Earlier in the match, Samuel Thompson and Mat Sharp had each taken two wickets while only some late hitting from Richie Richardson (47 not out) helped a young Souths side post a somewhat competitive total.
Andrew Moreton (13) and McGhee, who got off the mark with a six, added 45 for the first wicket and then the opener combined with youngster Cal Giffin in a 116-run second wicket stand secured the win.
McGhee then departed shortly after reaching his milestone while Giffin finished 27 not out.
Newtown Black scored a crucial win over RSL-Colts Red at John McGrath 2, leapfrogging their opponent into fourth spot in the process.
Four wickets from veteran Don Skinner (4/3) and three from Will English (3/28) helped dismiss Colts for 130.
The side collapsed late on after Scott Chippendale (50) led them to 0/72 at one stage.
After slumping to 2/16 in reply, the rest of the run chase was fairly comfortable as Andrew Waldren (53 not out) led his side to a five-wicket win.
RSL-Colts White scored a morale boosting and exciting win at John McGrath 1, defeating Newtown Gold by two wickets.
Irfan Sagri (3/21), Will Olney (2/16) and Glen Shields (2/21) helped dismiss Newtown for 122, with Josh Battishall’s 41 the only score of note.
Olney then capped off his day with a fine 64 not out as the young Colts side reached the target in the final over.
Chris Lenord (4/20) was valiant in defeat for the Gold Tigers.
CYMS White didn’t have it all its own way at Lady Cutler South 1 but the minor premierships and red-hot title favourites still scored a 55-run win over South Dubbo Green.
Jerose Joseph (61) led the way but four other players scored more than 30 as the Cougars posted 8/259 from 40 overs.
Al Lloyd (2/12 from six) was Souths’ best bowler, before the side’s opening batsmen got off to a fine start.
Jordan Murphy (73) and Asher Azam (45) added 100 for the first wicket but there was little after that and they were all out for 204.
Youngster Sam Taylor (4/38) was the main destroyer for CYMS.
Rugby Red kept a hold of second spot after defeating Macquarie White at Lady Cutler 1.
The loss was a huge blow for Macquarie’s finals hopes but their batsmen failed to fire and the side was out for 124, with Jon Fuller’s 31 thew best effort while eight different Rugby bowlers took wickets.
Rugby Red was always in control in the chase, with Ross Horrocks (36), Mitch Rosenbaum (23 not out) and Craig Rosenbaum (22 not out) leading the way to a strong six-wicket win.
The win means Rugby Red and CYMS Green look destined to meet in the major semi-final.
Macquarie Blue played one of its better matches of the season on Saturday but it was enough for the bottom-placed side to defeat Rugby Blue.
Macquarie posted 9/214 fro 40, with Matt Ball (58) and Nilesh Solanki (44) the standouts while Darcy Chewings (4/30) starred with the ball.
Adam Stone (67 not out), Grant Berrryman (54) and James Rootes (30) all got among the runs in reply as Rugby Blue ultimately reached the target with more than eight overs to spare and five wickets in hand.
