Lateesha Nolan went missing in 2005. Malcolm Naden was convicted of her murder in 2012 after one of NSW’s biggest ever manhunts caught the fugitive near Gloucester. Naden was also found guilty of the murder of Kristy Scholes.

In a comment on Facebook, Ms Nolan’s father Mick Peet said he felt sick he was not notified about the episode. However while Mr Peet may not have been involved, Homicide Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Mick Willing said he was aware it was done in consultation with the family.

A post on A Current Affair’s Facebook page said Monday night’s episode would involve Malcolm Naden’s ‘multiple killings in his own words’.

The segment is expected to portray an actor as Naden reading from a 25-page confession letter. A video advertising the ‘confessions’ showed the actor saying “I’d like to say I feel something for the victims, but I don’t”.

Writing from a Lateesha tribute Facebook page, Mr Peet said: “I am the father of Lateesha Nolan and at the moment I feel sick to the guts I was not even notified of this only to learn when it was posted to [Facebook].”

Another comment said: “As if living everyday without our loved one isn’t hard enough to deal with, let alone having the media shove it in our faces and down our throats yet again! Each and every time it brings everything to the surface again!”.

While he didn’t want to make extensive comment before watching the episode, Detective Superintendent Willing said: “I was aware it was done in consultation with the family and I was happy for my detectives to participate”. 

Naden was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders, as well as the attempted murder of a police officer he shot.
