Last season’s premiers and the current runaway leaders renew hostilities with the Blues 4/73 in reply to RSL-Colts’ total of 136.
While it may seem like a routine task for Macquarie to reach the target, Colts have made a habit of winning tight contests for more than a decade and the men in red will be guaranteed to pressure the batsman from the off on Saturday.
Blues captain Keiran Brien and Hamish Smith will resume the chase on Saturday, on 11 and 14 respectively, while Dalton Medcalf and Ben Taylor are the leading batting hopes in the sheds.
Tim Cox claimed three of the four wickets last week and his nagging bowling will be key for Colts, while the spin of Wes Giddings and Marty Jeffrey, as well as Tom Atlee’s pace, are also certain to feature.
Play resumes at 1pm.
