It’s a scary thought but Dunedoo product Hugh Bowman feels champion mare Winx is in even better shape heading into Saturday’s Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) than she was when recording her 15th win straight earlier this month.

Chris Waller’s star will make her second start of this preparation when lining up from barrier four in Saturday’s $600,000 event at Royal Randwick.
Last time out she scored a routine win in the Apollo Stakes but Bowman, who will again have the ride, told the media on Thursday she was perfecrtly placed.
“I think she has certainly come on from her first-up run,” he said.
“She’s certainly a bit stronger in her work, bit more relaxed in her demeanour so that suggests to me she’s where she needs to be at this stage of the preparation.”
Winx has dominated the betting heading into Saturday’s race, the TAB estimated the five-year-old mare accounted for 99.73 per cent of the betting in Saturday's feature race, according to spokesman Gerard Middleton.
"It doesn't matter what price she is, punters just line up to back her like they did with Black Caviar," Middleton said.
Although Winx is the $1.10 favourite trainer Chris Waller taking nothing for granted, especially with John O'Shea, trainer of second favourite Hartnell ($8), guarded about the six-year-old gelding's potential to end a five race losing streak against Winx.
The race is at 4.30pm.
