The newly leased inspection station on Buckley Drive will provide and alternative location and complement other inspection sites at Dubbo, Gilgandra and Walgett.
Inspections will start from 28 March at the new location which will provide improved access and better inspection facilities for heavy vehicle operators.
It is important heavy vehicles can be safely intercepted to ensure those travelling to regional areas and interstate are compliant.
This facility is fully equipped with an inspection pit and access for the Roads and Maritime Services’ portable brake roller and suspension testing equipment which will greatly improve the quality of inspections.
The heavy vehicle bay is a useful asset for compliance operations and will help to ensure the safety of all road users.

NOMINATE A SENIOR
The 2017 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards are open for nominations.
Seniors help make our local region stronger and better and the Awards are an opportunity to thank a senior for everything they do in the community.
We are calling on people to nominate seniors who are making a real difference to the lives of those around them.
Previously, seniors have been recognised for volunteering their time to local sporting clubs, charity work, caring for others and mentoring young people.
The 2017 NSW Seniors Local Achievement Awards will celebrate seniors’ achievements in a range of categories, including business, environment, science, agriculture, health and wellbeing, learning and community service.
Nominations are now open and will close on Wednesday, March 1.
The Awards will then be presented as part of NSW Seniors Festival, held 3 – 12 March.

THUMBS UP
A big thumbs up to Essential Energy crews who have done an outstanding job to reconnect power to sites affected by fires around Coolah, Leadville and Cassilis over the week.
Crews have worked over time to ensure power is restored to homes in the area, whilst having the added pressure of power outages caused by storms around much of the rest of the state.
Please join me in passing on our thanks for the work they do.
OUT AND ABOUT
Today I will be again visiting bushfire affected communities around Coolah, before heading back to Parliament for the remainder of the week.
