Ray Smith’s kennel star will line up in the Banjo Boy @ Stud Stakes (516m), and while he faces a handy field of rivals he is sure to start a short-priced favourite.
The Kinloch Brae x Break Even dog has raced at Dawson Park five times throughout his 91-start career for three wins and two minor placings, and is the current track record holder over the 516m with a best time of 29.30s
His overall record stands at 34 wins and 36 minor placings, with more than $280,000 in prizemoney, a figure significantly more than the rest of the runners combined.
Such consistency has been the hallmark of the veteran’s career, and he shows no signs of slowing down.
Just last Friday he ran a time of 30.75s when winning a non-graded event at Richmond over 535m, and two runs prior he clocked 29.93s when second to Eisenhower over the Wentworth Park 520m.
Thursday’s TAB program will consist of 11 races, with the first set down for 12.07pm and the last to leave the boxes at 3.32pm.
Brad Hill Billy’s race is scheduled to be run at 1.37pm
