Mr Jarvis was left with nothing after the blaze destroyed his house at Cassilis last Sunday.
But the Dubbo community has rallied around him, with tradespeople and suppliers combining to donate almost everything needed to convert a nine by six metre shed (donated by Aussie Made Sheds and Metroll) into a two bedroom home.
Now all that’s left is furniture, which Mr Ingram has been fundraising to buy.
“The fundraising itself is going tremendously, the actual supply of products from local businesses is going really well,” Mr Ingram said.
“All things being fair and equal we should have permission to start work late next week.”
Mr Ingram raised $250 through a raffle last Saturday at the Buncha Hotel, with the winner of the meat tray donating it back to the cause. The tray fetched $50 at auction.
Another raffle is planned for this weekend.
Any excess funds would be given to other charities helping victims of the Sir Ivan fire, Mr Ingram said.
He said Mr Jarvis had been overwhelmed by the support.
“Warren, in the whole process he’s really struggling from day to day and it’s more the loss of his animals than the loss of his property,” Mr Ingram said.
“There’s a lot of people up there that are the same, and just knowing that people are helping them really helps them get through day to day.”
Mr Ingram said he also hoped to secure some fuel cards for the tradespeople who have donated their time.
Paul Wasson Electrical has already done a trip to Mr Jarvis’ property to help get the power back on, while Tim Beattie Plumbing (in conjunction with Tradelink), Col Thomas Plastering, Jason Fowler Painting and Wayne Jeffery Tiling have all donated their services for the build.
Astleys Plumbing and Hardware, Dubbo Plaster Masta, Steel Supplies Dubbo, Unique Kitchens and Bathrooms and Choices Flooring Dubbo have all donated supplies, which will be delivered to the site by Toll Group Dubbo.
Concrete for the slab has been supplied by Williams Concrete Merriwa.
“The smaller, independently-owned businesses have been astronomical,” Mr Ingram said.
“What they do it’s above and beyond.
“This is going to take a couple of years for them [victims] to get over it … the little guys have really stepped up.”
