Some of the biggest names in Australian rugby league arrived in Dubbo on Tuesday afternoon as part of the Hogs for the Homeless ride.

While the reason behind the ride is a serious and worthy one, Tuesday afternoon was all about fun as the likes of Brad Fittler, Steve ‘Beaver’ Menzies, Danny Buderus, Josh Perry and Tim Brasher delighted local juniors by taking part in a skills clinic at the Caltex Park junior ovals.
As well as the clinic with a huge number of the region’s aspiring stars, the Hogs for the Homeless riders were due to take part in a ‘Dinner with Freddy Fittler’ at the Dubbo RSL on Tuesday evening before getting involved in a Girl’s Gala Day of footy on Wednesday.
This year marks the fifth edition of the ride, with all money raised along the way will help to get kids away from living on the streets.
Fittler started the ride back in 2012, when he stated he said he felt sick to know there was as many as 47,000 homeless young people under the age of 25 in Australia.
He then got in touch with Father Chris Riley and his Youth off the Streets team with the idea of creating a fundraising event to help a worthwhile cause.
Fittler and fellow rugby league players Ian Schubert and Nathan Hindmarsh jumped on board their Harley Davidson motorcycles and rode throughout NSW to raise awareness and funds for the homeless youth of Australia.
