The meet attracted wide interest with the Western Districts Country Championships Qualifier among the nine races on the card together offering $400,000 in prize money.
Dubbo’s Kirsty Colliver and Tommy Jeffs from Canowindra were in fine form, winning fashions in the field.
The club was hosting the Western Districts Country Championships Qualifier for the third year and turf club general manager Vince Gordon was delighted with the day.
He said crowd numbers had improved on the past two years and the event had brought great coverage.
“We’re very pleased with the turnout and performance of the track, and the horses,” he said.
“A Bourke horse [Stoneyrise] cleaned up the race, now that’s a spectacular story.”
The first two horses past the post in the qualifier advance to the $400,000 Country Championships Final at Royal Randwick on April 1.
