One the agenda at Dubbo Regional Council’s first Finance and Policy meeting of the year is a call for no charge to be applied for the use of the unsecured public carpark at the airport.
The recommendation has been made by council’s director corporate development Ken Rogers and will be approved or dismissed by administrator Michael Kneipp.
In the report to council, Mr Rogers said in view of the public opposition to the proposed fee and the potential for such a fee to adversely affect passenger growth and damage customer relations, there should be no fee for the parking.
With the continued growth in passenger numbers, Mr Rogers has also recommended keeping the landing fees for the 2017/18 financial year at the current rate.
