West Dubbo
Frank Bartlett and Alby Harper blew the opposition away last Wednesday evening, easily winning ahead of the runners-up, John Fardell and Alex Rae.
On Friday morning, Nev Kitcher, Amos Murphy and Brian Jones won from Wayne Middleton, Buck Millgate and Warren Brown.
22 ‘keen’ bowlers lined up in searing heat last Sunday morning for the Blue’s Meats vouchers. Nev Kitcher, Ted Cassidy, Trevor Porch winning the vouchers from Wayne Herd, Bev Goss & Les Ney who took home a chook each.
In first round Mixed Fours Championships last Saturday, Joy Brown, Les Ney, Mary Ney and Harold Baker defeated Dale Richards, Alex Rae, Bev Agnew and Mark Morton in a nail-biter, and in another game, June Madden, Frank Bartlett, Bev Goss and Frank Rowe had too many guns for Gai Morrison, Anthony Brown, Deb Brown and Glenn Morrison.
Second round matches are scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) evening at 6.00pm: A Stevenson, G Gilholme, R Gilholme & T Williams v S Johnson, W Brown, J Usher & M Smith; R Breeze, W Trapman, M Rich & R Jeffries v K Ashby, E Cassidy, J Cassidy & T Porch; C Goodrick, W Herd, A Findlay & R Strawhan v G Cale, J Silk, T Silk & S Kirkness; J Brown, L Ney, M Ney & H Baker v J Madden, F Bartlett, B Goss & F Rowe.
The Far West District Triples begin this Saturday, with all 8 West Dubbo teams playing at Dubbo City. Players are requested to check the club noticeboard for the draw and times.
On Sunday, there will be an in-house pennant trial, with players to nominate their willingness by placing their names on the sheet provided on the club noticeboard.
Next Wednesday, 22 February, a visiting bowling contingent from Atherton in north Queensland, will descend on Club Dubbo to play against our bowlers. Anthony needs 40 bowlers to match our visitors. Play starts at 5.45pm, following a BBQ, and the cost for West Dubbo bowlers is just $5 per player.
Harold Giddings shield against Dubbo City will be held on Sunday 26th Starting at 9-30am follow by a BBQ.

Macquarie Women
Macquarie Women’s Bowling Club social bowls was held on Wednesday February 8. There was a strong breeze blowing across the green giving us all a challenge but at the same time assisting in keeping the temperature down to a bearable level. The result being

Pennants was put on hold this past week due to the extreme weather with Macquarie now playing Railway at Macquarie on Tuesday February 21. Morning tea at 8.30am for a 9am start. Please check the board for following games and times.
Ours Sunday evening social bowls was also cancelled this week due to the extreme weather conditions.
Macquarie Women’s card afternoon was held Monday February 13 with Elaine Pearson and Kerry Pike both from the one table winning between them, the raffle as well as the lucky door prize. To top the day off these ladies paired with each other and won the cards” hands down” on their table. Well done girls.
