The idea kicked off with a truckload of hay donated by Tamworth-based Goonoo Red Angus stud producer Graeme Jordan and is being managed by Hazells Farm and Fertilizer owner Rod Hazell.
"I decided I wanted to do something so I spoke to my produce agent and now we're looking at sending down a few truckloads next week," Mr Jordan said.
Mr Hazell put the call out on Facebook on Monday night and has been inundated with farmers wanting to help.
And it's not just farmers getting involved, with local freight businesses Carey's Freight Lines, Parry Logistics and Tongues Transport donating trucks and drivers.
"It only started yesterday and we've got half a dozen trucks that are full at the moment so we're looking for more," Mr Hazell said.
"The donations that have come in far exceed what we can transport so we're after more trucks if anyone wants to volunteer a truck and a driver.
"If we can get a few more trucks, we could have 10 or 12 trucks going down."
The trucks will leave Loomberah next Wednesday or Thursday with the distribution handled by a group at Dunedoo.
"We've all got friends and people we know down there who have suffered a lot of hardship," Mr Hazell said.
"Our clients in this district know how lucky they've been and know that someone might help them out."
