The helmets will be split up among the local clubs, ensuring Dubbo and the area’s players have the best and most safe equipment possible.
It came about after Cricket NSW received 1500 of the newest Masuri cricket helmets, featuring the latest stemguard protection, facilitated by McDonald’s, to share with the state’s junior cricket clubs throughout metro and regional NSW.
With new helmet standards being introduced in the 2019/2020 season, the helmets provided by Cricket NSW and McDonald’s will assist clubs with the transition by relieving some of the financial burden.
Cricket NSW CEO Andrew Jones hailed the initiative.
“Cricket is a sport for all and we are committed to making cricket as safe as it is fun for every girl and boy in NSW. This partnership with McDonald’s means that all Junior Clubs right across the state have the opportunity for their teams to play with the latest in helmet technology.”
