Last year’s event saw temperatures reaching to 36 degrees, and promoter Duane McDonald said he was praying to the weather gods for a cooler change.
Mr McDonald said as it was so hot last year, organisers have decided to start the Festival a bit later.
This year gates will open at 2pm, with the opening act to begin at 3pm and the final act - John Farnham- to begin at 8:30pm.
“We’ve decided to begin it later to try and beat the heat,” he said.
“Hopefully the weather god are kind to us.”
Despite Daryl Draithwaite being hospitalised earlier this year with an illness, Mr McDonald said he is back on deck and is loving every minute of it.
“And John Farnham is at the top of his game,” he said.
“James Reyne will have an hour of hits and Shannon Noll will certainly be bringing the younger audience to the mix, and when Taxiride play it’s just like a trip down memory lane.”
Mr McDonald said this years opening act will see Reece Mastin and Taylor Sheridan take to the stage for half an hour as people come through the gates.
With 5000 tickets being made available for this years Dubbo event and with only a few weeks left until it hits the City, Mr McDonald was expecting it to sell out.
“When I checked the ticket sales last week there were about 200 left, so it’d probable be under 200 now,” he said.
Mr McDonald said he was excited to be coming back to Lazy River Estate for the Dubbo tour, which he described as “a beautiful site”.
And if all goes well was even optimistic that Dubbo would be a part of the 2018 Red Hot Summer Tour.
