On the Saturday, Taronga Western Plains Zoo held their wedding open day, giving bride’s the opportunity to see first hand how they can style the Savannah Function Centre and outdoor ceremony area.
Guests also got to sample wedding canapés whilst enjoying a complimentary glass of sparkling on arrival.
Eryn Fraser joined Eloise Fraser to a trip to Taronga Western Plains Zoo to find out all of the latest wedding information for her big day.
On the Sunday, Lazy River Estate hosted its wedding open day, where approximately 60 people took the opportunity to meet with the Estate’s wedding planners.
Lazy River Estate events/functions coordinator Kelly McCutcheon said “the day went really well and we had a good variety of couples”.
“We had people come who have already booked their wedding with us and we also had those who were thinking about making a booking, where they were able to get a feel of how everything can be set up,” she said.
Ms McCutcheon said on the day Lazy River took 8 wedding bookings for the 2017/18 period.
Although spring is typically thought of as wedding season, Ms McCutcheon said Lazy River has recently been hosting weddings from February through to June.
“The last few years the wedding period has extended into winter, then it goes quiet until about August/September and picks right back up through to November and December,” she said.
“This year will be one of the biggest for weddings (at Lazy River).”
Ms McCutcheon said while brides were still booking Saturday to hold their big day, she had seen a rise in Friday bookings.
One of the newest edition to Lazy River’s wedding venue was the formalised ceremony location along the riverbank which was built in December 2016.
Suppliers at the Lazy River event included local businesses Cakes at Number 5, home decor Mink and Me, the Wedding Shoppe, The Meadow Floral Design and makeup artist Danielle Pearce, with entertainment provided by musician Haleigh Hing.
