A handful of the biggest names in rugby league will stop in at Dubbo this month as part of the annual Hogs for the Homeless tour.

The initiative began in 2012 when former NRL premiership winner, NSW Blues and Australian Kangaroo representative Brad Fittler said that as a father it made him feel sick that there were nearly 47,000 homeless young people under the age of 25 in Australia. He got in contact with Fr Chris Riley of Youth off the Streets and decided to team up with fellow NRL legends Ian Schubert and Nathan Hindmarsh to ride their Harley Davidson motorcycles throughout NSW to raise awareness and funds for the homeless youth of Australia.
This year, the your will stop at Dubbo with Fittler, Hindmarsh and Schubert set to be joined by the likes of Steve ‘Blocker’ Roach, Steve Menzies and Tim Brasher.
The group will roll into Dubbo on their Harley Davidsons on February 21, running a clinic with local juniors in the afternoon before attending an official function at the RSL that night.
They will also be in attendance at a women’s Nines tournament the following morning before continuing on their way to Walgett.
Funds raised from the events at Dubbo, and the tour as a whole, will be donated to Youth off the Streets.
The tour also stops at the likes of Canberra, Orange, Cowra and Coffs Harbour.
