HUGH Mitchell caught the eye of the handicappers during Tuesday night’s Dubbo City Toyota Track Racing Series after the young rider scored three wins in the junior development division.

Mitchell was too strong for his opponents and took out all three events over Ella Mann, George Mitchell and Hamish Murphy.
Chris Gilbert chalked up another three victories in the junior division two races.
Other riders on the night such as Emily Hines also recorded a win, with Tom Russell, Tom Williamson and Georgia Farr finishing in the placings.
Makayla Fuller won both junior division one handicaps and Isabelle Russell took out both scratch races.
Trent Hines, Zac Fuller, Louis Russell and Imogen Fuller also found themselves on the podium throughout the night.
Jason Canobie (five and six lap scratch races), Sarah Gordon (four lap handicap) and Simon Murphy (two lap handicap) were the winners of the D-grade races over Haydon Carroll, Helen Hines and Sarah Granger.
Young stars Haylee Fuller (six lap scratch race), Mitch Hines (two and four lap handicaps) and Lachie Clark (eight lap scratch race) took out the C-grade races over Heather Ticehurst and Craig Granger.
Mick Harvey (two lap handicap) and Sam Fitzgerald (eight lap scratch race, four lap handicap and 10 lap scratch race) took the lion’s share of the B-grade races on the night ahead of Dylan Eather, Danny Barber and Dave Gerrish.
Kurt Eather, Jason Farr, Chris Couper and Adam Mitchell shared the spoils in the A-grade races over Timmy Hines, Couper, Farr and Eather, who all finished with minor placings.
Dubbo Cycle Club will be well represented at this weekend’s Clarence Street Cyclery Cup at Dunc Gray Velodrome.
A strong gathering of riders will battle it out on the day, including Olympian and World Champion Sam Welsford, World Champion Ash Ankundinoff, Astral Wheelrace winner Stephen Cuff, Olympic Bronze medallist Kaarle McCulloch and National Madison Champion Scott Law.
The Dubbo City Toyota Track Racing Series continues next Tuesday evening as a number of the club’s riders prepare for the Dubbo Track Open and NSW State under-9 to under-13 championships.
The Dubbo Track Open and under-9 to 13 NSW Junior State Championships will be held at Victoria Park No.1 Oval on Saturday and Sunday February 11 and 12.
Also on this weekend is the Dubbo Track Open for riders from under 15s to elite on the Saturday evening.
