Shipp’s spell of 5/8 from six overs helped Dubbo fight back from a precarious situation after they had earlier been rolled for just 116 at Nyngan’s Frank Smith Oval.
Shipp’s wickets came at a vital time for Dubbo, as Nyngan had progressed to 4/83 and seemingly were in control of the match.
But then the Rugby youngster took his five wickets in the space of 27 balls to completely change the match.
Earlier in the day, Dubbo won the toss but it was a disastrous start as both Ben Wheeler and Pat Berryman both departed before a single run was scored.
Nyngan’s Tristan Dalforno was causing havoc with the new ball and he soon had four-fa as Nick Karydis (8) and Thomas Nelson (0) came and went before Dubbo was 25.
Things got even worse Dubbo slumped to 6/27 but then the middle and lower order began to fight, with Ben Knaggs and Justin Knudsen combining.
The pair added 41 for the seventh wicket before Knudsen fell for 23 and Knaggs (31) followed shortly after.
Captain Dan French made a crucial 31 from number nine to help his side get past the century mark.
Knaggs struck early with the new ball as the Nyngan chase began but the hosts pushed on to get themselves in a favourable position.
Bu then Shipp entered the fray, ripping right through the Nyngan middle order.
His line was sublime, with three of his wickets being bowled, leg before and caught behind.
He was undoubted star but Ben Knaggs was again strong with the new ball and finished with 2/26 from 10 overs while his younger brother Sam claimed 1/13 from his six overs.
Robert Gudgeon (19) was Nyngan’s top-scorer while key man Tim Smith made just 15 from first drop before falling to Matthews (1/21).
