Funded by Communities for Children and Carewest, the interactive performance was the most popular school holiday activity Apollo House has hosted this year.
Community youth worker Maddie Orth said kids aged between three and 12 years were all enthralled by Pooka’s performance, which combined magic with balloon animals and plenty of slapstick comedy.
“They’re just blown away, they were all engaged by it,” she said.
“Managing to target them all in one activity is awesome.
“We’ve had some parents and carers here which is great to see, as well as some younger kids who weren’t yet old enough to attend our after-school activities.”
