RSL-Colts made it 10 Whitney Cup victories in a row with a well-earned 51-run defeat of CYMS on Saturday, despite missing several key players.

The competition leaders were missing captain Jason Ryan, Tom Atlee and Tim Howarth, while regular opening batsman Paul Hulthen was travelling for work and went in at number 11.
However it didn’t stop them from making 166 and overcoming some nervous moments during CYMS’ innings to dismiss them for 115.
“The 50-run probably makes it look easier than it was but they were scoring almost the same as us until the
CYMS won the toss and elected so send in their rivals on a No. 1 Oval pitch that had received 13 millimetres of rain in the previous two days.
It worked well for them as Ben Knaggs claimed the wicket of Colts opener Matt Keenan on the opening ball of the innings.
His replacement Greg Buckley went five overs later with the score an unimpressive 2-4 before Wes Giddings and Brad Cox steadied the ship. They got the total to 34 before Giddings was trapped LBW by Josh Thompson for 26.
Cox went on to make 79 to put his side in a great position while Chris Morton chipped in with 27.
Brock Larance took 3/39 off 10 while Ryan Medley, Ben Knaggs and Sam Knaggs all chipped in with two wickets each.
CYMS’ chase got off to a shaky start but the middle order were able to keep them in the match. Ryan Medley made 26, Thomas Nelson 30 and Ben O’Donnell 26.
They reached triple figures with five wickets in hand but were then bowled out for just 13 more runs.
Giddings did most of the clean-up, taking 4/10 off 4.4 with the rest of the wickets shared by the Colts bowling attack.
