A Man of Mark
Jean Emile Serisier was a visionary who played a pivotal role in the development of Dubbo and is regarded as one of the city’s founding fathers. Intrigued by Serisier’s story, local journalist Yvette Aubusson-Foley has collated over 5000 documents, letters, photographs and correspondence with descendants and other historians to research an historical novel about his accomplished life.

Yvette will share some of her insights into Jean Emile’s life in a presentation to commemorate the 140th anniversary of his death which will be held at the library on Thursday 9 February at 2pm. Bookings for this free event can be made by contacting the library on 6801 4510.
Share a Story
The library provides free, entertaining literacy programs for children aged five years and under. These sessions encourage children to develop a love of reading, and assist in developing pre-reading skills while introducing a rich diversity of literature to children using a variety of storytelling techniques
Story time brings books to life using puppets, songs, finger plays and craft. This interactive session is presented from 11am-12noon every Tuesday and Wednesday of the school term with the first session for Term 1 commencing on Tuesday 31 January.
Bookings for story time are essential and open on Monday 23 January. Book from this date to secure your child’s place for the whole term. To make a booking, contact the library on 6801 4510.
Rhyme Time is presented every Friday of the school term and features a range of finger plays, rhymes, songs and everyone’s favourite – bubbles!
