Activities have been designed around a Heroes versus Villains theme featuring games, superhero training, peg art and – Tuesday’s choice – digital coding.
Fourteen children attended ‘Code Up’ where they learnt how to create codes using Lego, binary and the Scratch computer program.
They were shown how to create a set of instructions to ultimately produce animations on the computer.
The day was such a success staff at the library are considering establishing a Code Club.
Another popular school holiday activity has been the Summer Reading Club which since commencing in December has attracted 300 participants. The incentive program will end on January 31.
With only a week of school holidays remaining children are encouraged to get along to the January 19 comic workshop featuring guest artist, Matthew Lin.
