Crockett, who has won a Highway event in the past, will take his mare Mar Nero to Randwick while Thompson will make the trip with his equally in-form Plucky Star.
The three-year-old filly has scored one win and two seconds in her past three starts, with the victory being a tight one at Narromine last month.
Crockett’s Mar Nero has only scored two wins from 22 starts but both of those have come this preparation, proof the six-year-old is in career best form.
Mathew Cahill, one of the leading jockeys in country NSW, will ride Mar Nero while Thompson has turned to Leanne Henry to ride Plucky Star.
The event is race four on the card at Randwick and will jump at 2.50pm on Saturday.
