Kids will have a chance to feel the rhythm next week when the Macquarie Conservatorium hosts two Holiday Drumming Workshops.

The workshops on Wednesday, January 18 and Thursday, January 19 are open to kids between eight and 12 years of age.

Workshops will focus on hand-drumming in world music styles using African, South American and Middle Eastern rhythms, with drums supplied by the Conservatorium.

“These drumming workshops are a great way for kids to work off some energy in a nice cool environment … and enjoy making music together,” Conservatorium director Vivienne Winther said.

“Dale [Freeman] is great at getting everyone involved in his drumming workshops.”
