The ACT Blue and Gold sides travelled to Orange as two of the favourites but on day one of the Carnival it came up against a talented Dubbo side.
Dubbo won the toss and batted and a 49-run partnership from Koda Sissian (32) and Paddy Nelson (31) helped steady the ship after the side slumped to 2/10 early.
But there was little else to cheer about after that partnership and Dubbo was dismissed for 92.
Dubbo then produced a fine all-round effort with the ball to seal a fantastic one-run win.
Lawson Shepherd was a standout with the ball, taking 1/14 from eight overs, while Hugh Ridley helped his side score victory, taking 2/7 from 4.4, as ACT Blue was dismissed for 91.
Dubbo was then defeated by Shoalhaven on Tuesday.
