Ball finished with the hugely impressive figures of 5/10 from 7.2 overs as his side dismissed South Dubbo Gold for 138.
Luke Patis then made 72 not out as the Blues scored a six-wicket win at John McGrath 1.
Opening the bowling, Ball struck twice early to have Souths 2-12and his third wicket shortly after made the score 4-30.
The returning Aaron Etcell made 30 to help get his side back on track while fellow veteran Richie Richardson made 25 before both were dismissed by Patis (2-46).
Ball came back to finish off the tail and claim his five-wicket haul.
The run chase was a fairly routine one for Macquarie, with Patis and Dave Murray (10) adding 54 for the first wicket while Ben Walker then made 22 to support Patis in the win.
CYMS White now holds top spot on its own after captain Marty Nelson again starred in a nine wicket win over RSL-Colts White.
CYMS kept Colts White to 7-155 from its 40 overs, with youngster Rhys Beauchamp’s 78 not out from number three a real highlight as he combined in a 96-run partnership with brother Preston.
Jerose Joseph took 2-8 for the White Cougars.
Nelson and Connor Watts (32) added 77 for the first wicket before young gun Tom Coady chimed in with 27 not out as the table-toppers powered to a convincing victory.
One of the most destructive knocks of the season helped South Dubbo Green get past Macquarie White at John McGrath 2.
With his Souths side in all sorts of trouble at 5-15, Murray came out and blasted 80 to help his side make 196.
Murray hit an incredible nine sixes while he hit just two fours in a display of brute force.
Ben Calder avoided the carnage and took 4/10 from seven overs.
In reply, Macquarie White toughed it out but rains were hard to come by.
Brad Murray (3/25) struck early before Billy Murray capped off a fine game with 2-22.
Justin Gavin made 48 as his side posted 9-139.
RSL-Colts Red solidified its hold on third with a win over second-placed CYMS Green at Lady Cutler South 1.
Steve Chippendale’s 80 was the highlight as Colts Red made 208 before an all-round effort with the ball saw CYMS Green restricted to 9-174 in reply.
Nick Crawford claimed 3/26 while Mike Parish and Wayne Cole struck twice each.
Jake Settree (83) was valiant in defeat for the Cougars.
Four wickets to Jack Pettit and an unbeaten 70 from Shaun Swan helped Newtown Black get past Rugby Blue at Lady Cutler 1.
James Rootes (47) was the only Rugby Blue batsman to get going, while the young Pettit finished with 4-31 from seven overs.
In reply, Newtown Black were never really troubled and reached the target for the loss of just three wickets.
Swan’s knock included 11 fours and one six as his side reached the target inside 23 overs.
Normally at the top of the order, Brett Paul proved just as prolific down the order as he hit 81 not out in his side’s comprehensive win over Newtown Gold.
Rugby Red was 7-70 at one stage at Lady Cutler South 3 before Paul hit his side towards a solid total. Justin Sutton took four wickets for the Tigers.
In reply, Mitch Rosenbaum (2-19) and Matt Neil (3-30) ripped through the Tigers’ top order before Kieran Rosenbaum chipped in with 2/24. Josh Battishall made 48 but no other Tigers batsman got going as Newtown Black made just 108.
