The Magpies will join 15 other teams from across the state. Group Nine clubs dominate the entrants, but the addition of Group 7 club Shellharbour means clubs from seven competitions will take part in February.
Group Nine’s Wagga Brothers, Junee Diesels, Temora Dragons and Gundagai Tigers have joined Southcity Bulls, Wagga Kangaroos and Young Cherrypickers for the event.
Four Group 20 clubs, Leeton, Yenda, Tullibigeal-Lakes United and the hosts, will take part. Woden Valley will represent the Canberra competition while the Cobar Roosters, from the Barwon-Darling Cup, complete the field.
Forbes will be looking to start their title defence on a strong note and will also like a share of the $15,000 in prize money.
Group 10’s Orange CYMS missed the nomination cut-off and won’t be attending.
